Old Photo of Mom

My Aunt Lida emailed me some old pictures last week. This one just hit my soft spot because it of the smile. This was the girl my dad fell in love with about 50 years ago. They have been married 43 years, but were high school sweethearts as well. Look at that smile!

She is beautiful! Her smile has always been one of the things that I love most about her and I am sure you do to!

In an article about human behavior I once read how one may tell the difference between a genuine smile and one which is not, Andrea. Seems the genuine smile is one in which the eyes crinkle a little because more facial muscles are at work, displacing each other, pushing the tissues of the face upward (an insincere smile merely raises the corners of the mouth without affecting the rest of the countenance).

Your mom's smile is not only the kind which makes her eyes crinkle a little, but I found myself smiling back, thinking, "What a lovely soul this is!"

I could go on and on about the woderful qualities of smiles, but I suspect your life has been filled with an abundance of them; you know already!

I wish you many, many more years of your mom's beautiful smiles!

Have a great week, Andrea!!!

Good F words

Hey! Not all F words are bad. The best words in the world are family, fun, food, and fabulous! I'm challenging myself to expand my own appreciation of the fabulous F words out there. I'm starting a list of words that I'll eventually write about. Let me know if you think of another fun one.
