Fifteen

I have lost fifteen pounds over the last three months. It's not coming off very fast, but it is (thankfully) coming off. Fifteen isn't all that much when you consider that I need to lose another 50 or so to be at a healthy weight, but fifteen is enough that I'm starting to see solid results. My clothes are becoming loose or just too big. That is encouraging.

This morning I packed up my winter clothes for the spring/summer. Instead of putting them into the nice Sterilite container that I normally use, I decided to pack them into an old, battered suitcase. I'm hoping that by the time fall/winter rolls back around, the whole lot of those clothes will be so big that I'll just take the suitcase over to Goodwill and donate the whole thing. That will be my goal.

I'm always looking for a kid-friendly, healthy meal or snack idea, so if anyone has a suggestion, please let me know!

Navy Band MidSouth

Today I got a chance to see my fabulous husband perform on the Navy Base in Millington. First of all, you should know that I really don't get a chance to see/hear him play as often as you might think. Most of his gigs are out of town or for closed audiences. I only get to hear him a few times a year. Today the band played in Millington, and it was open to anyone who could get onto the base. That meant me! I am always blown away by his talent. Everytime I hear him perform I think, "Wow, he's awesome!" and then I look around to see what everyone else is thinking. This afternoon I heard some whistles of approval and some "D@m*, he's good!" I have to agree with the sentiment. He really, really is good. I'm so proud of him. I wish that I would have thought to bring my camcorder, but alas, it slipped my mind. I do, however, have some pictures of him. He's the adorably hairless wonder.

Seriously falling behind!

I'm ridiculously behind with my blogging. I just keep telling myself that I'll get caught up again as soon as I'm finished teaching. Only about three more weeks in the classroom, and then I'll feel like I can breathe again. The end of the semester is always a bit breathless for me.

Anyway, the boys had their big birthday party last weekend and I want to blog about it, but I'm short on time. I'm going to try to post a link to photos that I just uploaded to snapfish. We'll see if it actually works!
